From 29th of May to 3rd of June 2023, the IALA Conference took place in Rio de Janeiro for the 20th time. All kinds of international authorities, manufacturers and consultants in the field of marine aids navigation and innovation came together to exchange their experiences and achievements.
The organisers had prepared a multi-day programme with all kinds of sessions at different locations in the city. A very diverse and dynamic project which all needed to be incorporated in the app. Whether an event took place at a golf park or a closing gala, it should all be found in the app, including location and information about the transfer to the hotel.
An additional point of note for this event was that the participants were very international. People came to the Brazilian metropolis from all over the world. So, they wanted to keep in mind all the different time zones so that everyone arrived on time for the meetings at the desired meeting points.
In close cooperation with the customer, we set up the app in advance. We provided a lot of customisations, such as the repetition of their house style repeated in the app.
The IALA Conference included several abstracts and posters, which participants could download and view in advance. In doing so, we ensured that participants could rank the abstracts by liking them. At the back end of our system, the number of likes were counted, and this determined the order of the abstracts at the front end.
Thanks to the pleasant cooperation with the organisation, their clear wishes and needs, as well as the effort of our team, a beautiful solution was created that fit the conference perfectly. The app is completely in the style of IALA and participants could find everything they needed in terms of information.
The organisation was very pleased with what we delivered. They were very grateful for all our help and reported that the app was “a real success” at the conference. That’s what we do it for!
